Approach to Treatment
Christine Deamer, LMFT, works with clients using a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), traditional talk therapy, and mindfulness practices.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based psychotherapeutic treatment based on the concept that our thoughts and feelings influence behavior. By recognizing the thoughts and feelings that influence undesired behaviors, clients are able to learn to arrest their impulses to act, and ultimately learn to change those undesired habitual behaviors.
CBT is typically used to treat disorders such as addictions, depression, and anxiety. It is generally used to treat a specific problem, and treatment plans are developed with a specified length of treatment.
Family systems
Once a treatment plan has been developed, therapy sessions are generally scheduled weekly.
